Compressed Air Testing, Clean Gas and Cleanroom / HVAC Validation
ION Engineering provides accredited compressed air testing and cleanroom validation in Bangladesh — air touches your product more than any operator does, and we test it, classify it and certify it, along with pure steam, process gas and the cleanroom it all flows into.
Compressed Air Testing: ISO 8573 Purity Classes
| Dew point / moisture | Pressure dew point measurement and ISO 8573-3 water class. |
| Oil aerosol & vapour | Total oil content against ISO 8573-2 and 8573-5 limits. |
| Particle count | Solid particulate classification to ISO 8573-4. |
| Microbial contamination | Viable count sampling to ISO 8573-7 for sterile areas. |
| Hydrocarbon content | Gaseous hydrocarbon screening at the point of use. |
| Pure steam quality | Non-condensable gas, dryness value and superheat to EN 285. |
| Process gases | Nitrogen, oxygen, CO2 and breathing air purity checks. |
Why compressed air testing matters
- Product contact air. Oil or moisture carry-over reaches the tablet, the vial and the pack.
- Sterile area risk. Untested air is the fastest route to a microbial excursion.
- Audit finding. “No compressed air quality data” is one of the most common GMP observations.
Testing is performed at the actual point of use — not just at the compressor outlet — and every sample point is tagged and mapped in the report, so a repeat compressed air testing visit checks the exact same locations for a valid trend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which standard applies to compressed air quality?
ISO 8573 is the international standard for compressed air purity. Part 1 defines the purity classes, with particles measured to ISO 8573-4, water and dew point to ISO 8573-3, oil to ISO 8573-2 and 8573-5, and microbial contamination to ISO 8573-7.
How often should compressed air and cleanrooms be tested?
Compressed air used in product contact or sterile areas is normally tested at least annually, and after any major maintenance. Cleanroom re-qualification to ISO 14644 is typically every 6 months for Grade A/B areas and every 12 months for Grade C/D.
Do you perform HEPA filter integrity testing?
Yes. We perform installed filter leak testing by PAO/DOP aerosol challenge with probe scanning, along with air velocity, air change rate, pressure cascade, recovery and airflow visualisation studies.
Can you test nitrogen and other process gases?
Yes. We sample and test nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and breathing air quality, and verify pure steam quality to EN 285 for non-condensable gas, dryness value and superheat.
