Boiler Hydrostatic Testing Service in Bangladesh
Hydrostatic (hydraulic) pressure testing, safety valve setting and a documented report for boilers and pressure vessels — scheduled inside your shutdown window, anywhere in Bangladesh.
What a Hydrostatic (Hydraulic) Test Actually Checks
A hydrostatic test — often called a hydraulic test on the factory floor — fills the boiler or pressure part with water and raises the pressure above its normal working pressure using a test pump. Water is used rather than air because it is nearly incompressible, so a failure during the test releases very little stored energy. The pressure is held for a set period while the shell, tubes, welds, joints and fittings are examined for leakage, deformation or pressure drop.
The Regulation Behind the Test
Boiler and pressure vessel examination in Bangladesh sits under the Boilers Act 1923 and the Bangladesh Boiler Regulations 1951 (as amended), enforced by the Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers under the Ministry of Industries — a separate authority from DIFE, which covers factory safety and lifting equipment such as cranes and hoists. Operating a boiler without a valid test certificate is an offence under the Act.
What a testing partner provides is the technical work behind that certificate — the hydrostatic test itself, calibrated instrumentation and a documented report — that your statutory examination rests on.
What’s included
- Hydrostatic test at the correct code-based pressure
- Safety valve set-point verification
- Calibrated, traceable test gauges
- QR-verifiable test report
- Scheduled inside your shutdown window, including nights
What We Test
Boilers
Steam and hot-water boiler shells, tubes and fittings tested to their statutory test pressure.
Pressure Vessels & Receivers
Air receivers, autoclaves, steam headers and process vessels tested for continued safe operation.
Safety Valves
Set-point verification and testing of safety and relief valves fitted to the boiler or vessel.
Testing and lifting-gear certification often fall in the same shutdown window — if your visit also needs crane, hoist or lifting-gear work, see our DIFE load testing service.
Boiler Hydrostatic Testing FAQs
What authority governs boiler testing in Bangladesh?
Boiler and pressure vessel examination sits under the Boilers Act 1923 and the Bangladesh Boiler Regulations 1951 (as amended), enforced by the Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers under the Ministry of Industries — a separate authority from DIFE, which governs factory safety and lifting equipment.
How often must a boiler be tested?
Statutory examination is generally required annually, and additionally after any repair, alteration, re-tubing, relocation or extended shutdown, regardless of when the last annual date falls.
What is the difference between a hydraulic test and a hydrostatic test?
They refer to the same test — pressurising the vessel with water above its working pressure to confirm structural integrity. “Hydraulic test” is the common factory-floor term; “hydrostatic test” is the formal engineering term.
What test pressure do you apply?
Test pressure is set from the design code, the manufacturer data plate and the maximum allowable working pressure, commonly 1.25 to 1.5 times the working pressure. We confirm the figure with you and record it on the report, along with the calibrated gauge used and the hold time.
Can testing be done during a shutdown or at night?
Yes. Boiler testing almost always sits in a planned shutdown window, and our engineers work nights, weekends and holiday shutdowns so the plant restarts on schedule.
