Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment legally requires periodic load testing?
Cranes and hoists, lifts and elevators, forklifts and man-lifts, pressure vessels and receivers, and all loose lifting gear such as slings, shackles, chains, hooks and eye bolts. Periodic examination and testing by a competent inspection body is a statutory requirement for factories and establishments in Bangladesh.
Is ION Engineering enlisted with DIFE?
Yes. ION Engineering is a DIFE enlisted and approved inspection service provider, and our certificates are accepted in buyer, insurance and social compliance audits.
How long does a load test take?
A single crane or lift is usually completed within a few hours. A full factory programme covering cranes, hoists, vessels and loose gear is normally scheduled over one to three days, including night or shutdown work if required.
What documents do we receive after testing?
A test certificate for each item signed by our engineer, an inspection report with findings and corrective recommendations, a colour-coded identification tag or sticker, and an equipment register for your audit file.
