Safety Valve Calibration & Set-Pressure Testing in Bangladesh
ION Engineering tests and sets safety and pressure relief valves to their correct opening pressure using calibrated test equipment, accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 — a statutory requirement for boilers and pressure vessels in Bangladesh.
What We Calibrate
Boiler Safety Valves
Set-pressure testing for steam and hot-water boiler safety valves.
Pressure Relief Valves
Relief valves on air receivers, process vessels and pipelines.
Pilot-Operated Valves
Set-point verification for pilot-operated relief valves.
How We Test a Safety Valve
The valve is tested on a calibrated test bench, with pressure raised until the valve lifts (opens) at its set point and reseats afterward; both figures are recorded and compared against the valve’s design set pressure, since a valve that opens late is a safety failure and one that opens early causes nuisance venting.
What’s included
- Set (lift) and reseat pressure recorded
- Comparison against design set pressure
- Stated measurement uncertainty
- QR-verifiable certificate
Safety Valve Calibration & Set-Pressure Testing FAQs
Is safety valve testing required by law in Bangladesh?
Yes, safety valve testing forms part of the statutory examination of boilers and pressure vessels under the Boilers Act 1923. See our boiler hydrostatic testing service for the full statutory testing scope.
Can this be combined with a boiler hydrostatic test?
Yes, safety valve testing is routinely scheduled together with hydrostatic testing in the same shutdown visit.
What happens if a valve fails to open at the correct pressure?
We report the as-found result; a valve outside tolerance is typically adjusted or reset and retested, and the finding is documented either way.
Is the certificate independently verifiable?
Yes, every certificate number can be checked using our online verification tool, with no login required.
