How to Choose a Calibration Company in Bangladesh: A Buyer’s Checklist
A practical checklist for evaluating calibration providers in Bangladesh: accreditation scope, traceability, turnaround, certificate verification and sector experience.
Search “best calibration company in Bangladesh” and you will find a dozen providers, most claiming ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Here is what actually separates a reliable calibration partner from one that just prints the logo on their letterhead.
1. Check the Accreditation Scope, Not Just the Logo
An ISO/IEC 17025 certificate lists specific parameters and ranges the lab is accredited for. A company can be accredited for dimensional calibration but not pressure, for example. Ask for the accreditation scope document, not just a general certificate.
2. Traceability Should Be Explicit
Every certificate should state the reference standard used and its traceability chain back to a national or international measurement institute. If a certificate has no traceability statement or measurement uncertainty, it is not a technically valid accredited result.
3. Turnaround and On-Site Capability
Ask directly whether the provider can calibrate on-site, and what their realistic turnaround is for both routine and urgent work. A lab that only offers in-lab service may not fit a plant that cannot ship fixed equipment.
4. Certificate Verification
A trustworthy lab lets you or your auditor verify a certificate independently, typically via a QR code or an online lookup, rather than asking you to simply trust a PDF.
5. Sector Experience
Pharma, food, textile and heavy industry each have different compliance expectations (DGDA, buyer social-compliance audits, DIFE). A provider with direct experience in your sector will flag issues a generalist might miss.
