How We Calibrate a Torque Wrench
Each wrench is tested against a traceable torque reference at multiple points across its working range, in both directions where applicable, with as-found and as-left readings recorded at each point. This confirms the wrench applies the torque value it indicates, not just that it clicks or displays a number.
What’s included
- Multi-point calibration across your working range
- As-found and as-left readings, per point
- Stated measurement uncertainty
- QR-verifiable certificate
Torque Wrench Calibration FAQs
How often should a torque wrench be calibrated?
Most workshops calibrate torque wrenches annually, or more frequently for tools used daily on safety-critical fastenings — the right interval depends on usage and any standard your work is audited against.
Do you calibrate both directions on a bidirectional wrench?
Yes, clockwise and counter-clockwise are both tested and reported where the wrench is designed for bidirectional use.
What measurement uncertainty do you report?
Uncertainty is stated per range on your certificate; our full accredited scope is published on our calibration capabilities page.
Is the certificate independently verifiable?
Yes, every certificate number can be checked using our online verification tool, with no login required.
